Welcome Back to School!

The students are coming! The students are coming!

As we gear up for the first official week of school, we've been hard at work over the last weeks and months preparing for the New and Returning Teacher Trainings, and of course, most importantly, the students!

The LID Directors spent countless hours preparing the best possible experience for new and returning teachers alike and while no school year begins without its bumps, we all continue to work to ensure that you are prepared to support your students to become contributing citizens of the world.

One of our big items has been the formal implementation of Remind - a communication tool to message parents or students without having to provide you cell phone number. We'll be providing you with more information about training using this simple and effective tool this week!

Do you ever struggle to assess students' critical thinking, presentation or collaboration skills? Consider taking a look at and modifying these rubrics here at the Buck Institute for Education's website (there are two pages of rubrics, so keep clicking!)

Sometimes, the most innovative thing you can do is ensure that you're using the right tool for the right job.

Welcome to the all new Learning, Innovation & Design blog, created for the Harker teachers and by your LID Team.

The purpose of this blog is to give the Harker Teacher and Staff community a glimpse into the world of LID at Harker and beyond.

Some of our posts will include what's happening around the campuses, amazing new strategies and tools we may have learned and/or celebrations of all of YOU going outside your comfort ones to try something new! If you're interested in being a guest blogger and sharing some pictures of something new or different you or your students are doing, just send an email to Liz and we'll highlight it!
